Tough Mudder Manchester returns to Heaton Park and is now the only “City event” left in the UK as Finsbury Park hasn’t returned for 2024.
This venue has a lot of character for a “City” event and has always been my favourite when comparing to the others (especially Morden!) TMHQ cannot dig down, so the larger obstacles, Funky Monkey and Blockness in particular are not present, but they have still packed in as many obstacles in the 10km route than in the 10mile course.
The weather in Manchester was overcast with some sunny spells, a vast difference to last year where it was raining for pretty much the whole weekend. But we’re in Manchester, should we be surprised?

I love this course! Not a lot of elevation (for an obstacle course) lots of character and changes in terrain – unlike the old “City” events at Finsbury Park, Morden etc. Easy to get to and full of atmosphere.
Shame that some of the “signature” obstacles cannot make an appearance (although this is understandable) but being able to pull in more osbtacles over the 10km is a real plus.
