Tough Mudder North West 2019 was my 4th visit to the Chomondley estate and my first ever Tough Mudder back in 2015 (also my first run with the Solo Mudders)
Tough Mudder North West is known to be the muddiest course of the UK season and 2019 was no different. With Sewer Rat and Mud Mile, Tough Mudder North West lived up to it’s reputation (see the video!)

Conclusion
The course layout was near perfect (definitely as compared to last year where I thought Tough Mudder North West lost some of it’s sheen – see my review down below). Just over 8 miles, with small undulations, not quite as flat as London South but no where near as hilly as Yorkshire or London West. A good ratio of obstacle to running and without much of the “let’s add some more distance by running around this field which South West suffered from earlier this year
I enjoyed the final loop of Mudderhorn into the village and out again, but I understand it caused some confusion in the early waves on the Saturday.
The alpha test “Wet Willy” was an interesting addition and I do hope it is rolled out on course next year. As I didn’t capture it on video it was a wade/swim out to a floating platform. On the platform you had to crawl over it (it was shaped like a pyramid) and then back in the water for a submersion under the platform.
